Happy Holidays!

Well, we just wanted to take a second and thank everyone for a terrific tour season in 2008.  Following tradition, we have put together a small holiday video as our way of showing our appreciation.

It was a lot of fun putting the video together as we were able to see all the smiling faces that make our work a joy.  Felices Fiestas to all!

Saludos,

Alex

End of the Camino de Santiago Season

Camino BettyAt the end of October, we finished our last 2 sceduled tours along the Camino de Santiago.  We were very fortunate as we had very good weather on both trips.  A few days with rain, but for the most part sunny skies and a clarity that seemed like we could see for miles and miles - much more than in the spring.  After being on the trail since April, we really noticed how each year there are more and more pilgrims on the trail in the Spring and Fall.  The Camino is no longer just July and August!  We will be launching our complete 2009 calendar very soon!  Stay tuned!

Saludos,

Alex

Falling into Autumn

Camino de Santiago Oct 07

How quickly the summer has gone by!  We are already into October and getting ready for our last 2 scheduled tours on the Camino de Santiago.  We hope that we are fortunate enough to have similar weather like we had last year - cool days with sunny skies.  (see picture to the right!)  Perfect for walking!  I also am hoping that the figs will be nice and ripe!  Yum!

Alex

Fore!

We’ve traded in our walking sticks for putters and nine irons!  Well, not that drastic, but today AFTER our walk along the Camino de Santiago, a few clients and I went to the golf course.  It is a little 3 par pitch and putt near Sarria and it was a perfect afternoon to be on the course.  We had a good time, although none of us will be chasing Tiger on the fairways!  This evening we finish off a complete day with a visit to the Samos Monastery to listen to vespers!
Saludos from the trail and buen camino!

August 2008 Camino de Santiago Tour

O\'Cebreiro

Our August Camino de Santiago tour has arrived!  Our pilgrims arrived safely to Santiago on what has been a pretty cool summer.  The weather has given us some rain and sunny days, but it has never been too hot.  I was also surprised that there were not more people along the trail for the 1rst week of September.  Our group of 14 was an even mix from Canada, USA, and Australia / New Zealand.

Here is a picture from O’Cebreiro - we woke in the morning to find us sitting on top of the world! It was a great way to be introduced to the magic of Galicia!

We are pretty busy this fall with 3 more tours along the Camino!  Thanks for checking in - more soon!

Summer is finally here!

After a slow start, summer seems to be here!  The sun is out and a nice cool breeze is keeping us company on the trial!  Although, I don’t think it is going to last too long, as the forecast is for a rainy weekend…. we shall see!

Last night, we enjoyed the songs of the Benedictine Monks at the monastery of Samos.  One of our clients bought their Greatest Hits CD!  It was a nice way to end a long day in the boots!  Afterwards, we had a delicious home cooked meal of baby trout, typical of the area.

Buen Camino!

Saludos,

Alex

Spain-taneous Private Tour

Hola a todos!

Our tour season is in full swing and we have already finished 5 tours! 3 scheduled Camino de Santiago Tours and 2 Spain-taneous private tours - one of the Camino and the other of the Basque Country, where we actually walked 70 KMs of the Camino Norte along the coast. The Basque country is so beautiful and it was great to be following those familiar yellow arrows with the blue sea to our right! Pictures of all our adventures are up in our Photo Galleries!

The word for the year so far is DIVERSITY. We’ve had clients from around the world: Denmark, Finland, Ireland, the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Cuba, India, Spain, Puerto Rico, the UK, Australia, Serbia, Portugal, El Salvador, and Singapore! Boy, I’m tired just typing all those places! Seriously, it has been a tremendous experience for all of us having people from all over the globe.

We have big news: Our 2009 Camino de Santiago Tour Dates have been launched and we are currently accepting Reservations! Join us and become part of the Fresco Tours Friends!

Hasta pronto and thanks for checking in - more news soon!

April 2008 Camino de Santiago Tour!

Walking the Camino de Santiago

We’ve just finished up our April tour along the Camino de Santiago with 5 women coming from Finland, USA, and Australia. It was a wild week of weather, as we had temperature changes of 40 degrees (Fº) over the course of 4 days. We were too cold coming down from O’Cebreiro, too hot working our way into Palas de Rei, but finished just right strolling into Santiago!

It was a beautiful time to be on the trail - there were not many people, the buds were starting to pop out, and everything was so lush and green. For a look at some of our pictures, please click HERE .

It was a great way to kick off or tours along the Camino de Santiago this year!

We’re off again on Sunday for our next tour, so come check back with us soon!

Saludos from Spain,

Alex
